We had a great turnout for the Code and Coffee last night. People assembled into small groups or focused on their own tasks. There were a few impromptu presentations/discussions about a notifications feature coming from Less Everything and Rails/Keynote integration tip from Chad Bearden.
After Panera closed at 9PM we retired to the HashRocket offices for some doubles ping-pong and further geeking out.
I think the next code and coffee is likely to happen after the first of the year, but, if you’re going to be out working and want some like-minded company post to the Google group, rubyjax@googlegroups.com.
Cheers!

The next meeting of RubyJax will be held on Wed. Dec. 12th at 7:45 at Team Gaia’s palce (same place as last time).
Schedule:
Thanks to Sandro for lighting the fuse on this get together. Code & Coffee’s are your chance to code, hang out, learn, get help, co-work, shmooze, whatever. They’re not scheduled, planned, or formal or anything. Just bring your laptop and zest for hacking on some Ruby and/or Rails.

A post by Sandro to the RubyJax google group reminded me of a point that I wanted to stress to this group. I’m reposting to this blog. The RubyJax blog and monthly meeting are not meant to be the entirety of this group. They are intended to start or encourage conversations and ideas.
The thought of getting together at a coffee shop or other wifi-enabled meeting space and growing ideas is attractive to me. I don’t have the time to coordinate that but, I’d be able to pop in for a meeting here and there. If you see opportunities like these and have some small amount of time to volunteer and organize, please, speak up.
RubyJax is, exactly, no more and no less than what you make it. Don’t like meeting on the beach? Let’s find an alternative meeting area! Meetings too early/too late? Let us know, or tell the group through the google group, comment on this blog ( http://www.rubyjax.com/), and/or hop in to the IRC Channel (#rubyjax on irc.freenode.net). Just speak up and people will hear you.
Cheers!
