This presentation will help you learn how expert Ruby coders make the right decisions by demonstrating and explaining some of the most useful Ruby Best Practice Patterns. These patterns are inspired and informed by Kent Beck’s seminal Smalltalk Best Practice Patterns book and taken from Rein’s upcoming Ruby Best Practice Patterns book. The examples are gathered from some of your favorite Ruby gems and from Ruby itself, by way of Rubinius !

There was some question as to whether or not anyone wanted to see the jQuery presentation Steven Bristol gave and it turned out to be very popular. What are you interested in seeing?
Bert Hood is a HAML guy. He is keyed in to the HAML community and more like than not knows more than you. ;) His May RubyJax talk on HAML came off great and people gained valuable insight into what HAML is and where it is going.

Alan Doucette will be speaking about Content Management Systems. Alan has been working with CMS’s for many years, including building a few of his own. He will be covering the strengths and weaknesses of some of the major systems. Bring your questions about any CMS. Alan feels more than comfortable in front of a firing squad.
